Sunday Oct 12-California Adventure

The kids each had a set amount of money that they had earned, or had received for babysitting, birthdays, etc. for spending on souveniers. However, the very first day Nathan and I decided rather than bring things back for everyone else we were going to spend that money on the kids. Everything was so expensive, and one of the best parts is dressing up daily. So before we left the night before we let the kids each pick out a hat. Landon didn't love his...he wanted his hair done like his daddy's, plus the string rubbed on his chin and he hated that. It is hanging in his room now though!
The girls ready for the day!
The Haunted Mansion isn't the only thing decorated for Halloween. In front of California Adventure they have huge letters that spell out California. This month the A's are candy corn. So cute!
The kids loved to get on Uncle Cody's shoulders. He is the tallest of all the family and they could see so much from up there! As soon as we walked into the park we were lucky enough to spot Minnie. California Adventure is based more off of the Pixar side of things. They have a whole area dedicated to just Bug's Life, the kids thought that was hilarious!
This ride is aimed for very little children, yet we all piled on! You sit inside cars shaped like Heimlech and he takes you through food items while he eats. It is seriously a 30 second ride, so I didn't take many pictures, but this one is really cute!
Waiting in line for the Roly Poly Bugs bumper cars.
Courtney wanted to prove her driving skills and was not going to get bumped.
Tayler had a completely different plan for her! She had Cody and I laughing so hard. Before the ride started she kept pointing at Courtney and then smacking her hands together. As soon as they started, she took off straight for her!
We found quite a few characters right in a row. The kids were excited to be filling their autograph books! Here we have Chip and Dale. They kept taking the kids hats, and teasing them...
Courtney did the teasing with Goofy...
Which you would think she would realize that is only bad karma :). We ran into the Frollo and the Wicked Witch. This was fun enough for a minute. Scared Courtney quite a bit though when the witch started to follow her as we went to the next ride. She followed us for quite awhile. Poor Courtney.
Bailey and Mr. Potato Head. They had a new ride since the last time we had gone. It was a HUGE line so we only rode it once. It's a 4D game. You are on a ride, but playing a shooting game for a score. Couldn't take pictures inside, too bad.
Also new to us was the Tower of Terror. All the kids had said NO WAY, they were going. Papa has heart problems and had ridden it a few years ago, Grandma is afraid of heights. It was supposed to be Cody, Nathan and I. So imagine our surprise when the kids all jumped up and said I'M GOING! Notice the front says Hollywood Tower...they didn't know what they were getting on ha ha. We didn't know they were confused until after either. Very fun ride, the kids as expected hated it! Bailey got off and used her souvenier money to buy a neckchain that said I survived the tower of terror. Landon just kept telling us over and over..."Why would it tell you to say goodbye to your world? I HATED that!"
In California Adventure there is a place a bit hidden. It's a small museum of all kinds of fun stuff. One of the things is a book. It asks you a few questions that you answer and it tells you which Disney Character you are most like. We of course all did this, here is the kids pictures with their character.
Courtney is most like Mrs. Potts from Beauty and the Beast. We agree she is so motherly and sweet (most of the time)
Bailey is like Nala from Lion King.
Tayler is like Lady from Lady and the Tramp. The kids thought this was great since when we took Bailey at 7 she was also Lady. They are more alike than they would like to admit.
Landon answered one very crucial question with a pretty defining response. Would you rather eat lunch with nice people or eat nice people for lunch. He is most like Sher Khan from Jungle Book. A fact he found quite hilarious after the initial shock that he was a bad guy.
Our family outside of Monsters Inc.
We waited in line for about an hour this night to go on this ride. Unfortunately this is as close as we got. It broke down before we got a chance to ride.
By this time it was VERY late, so we decided to go to dinner somewhere we could SIT---our feet hurt so bad!
We went to Coco's which is one my parents normally loved. Don't ask me why but they gave their newest waitress the table of 9. The kids have been at the park for a full day at this point. The boys have not eaten. The girls are cranky from them being cranky. The service was HORRIBLE! We didn't get our food for about an hour, it was great once it arrived, but!? Landon fell asleep right at the table. He woke up for 1/2 second when the waitress showed up, took a few bites of pizza, but that was as much as his little body could handle before crashing again.
However, he wasn't the only one!!!
I carried Landon out to the car, and from the car to the hotel
Dad did the same with Tayler
But probably the best was Uncle Cody doing it to Courtney!
These poor kids, had NOTHING left!!! I had to change them into their PJ's and tuck them under their covers. Believe me when I tell you they didn't move until morning!
