Saturday Oct 11-Disneyland

Our very first ride was Pirates of the Carribean. Landon wanted so badly to see Capt. Jack Sparrow!
The lines were not too bad, we quickly found that we love FAST PASS! I didn't get pictures until we were actually on the ride. The reason was Landon's excitement faded quickly as soon as we walked into the doors. He had been chattering us up the whole line---pointing out pictures of pirates, swords, guns, the whole bit. Before we knew it, he had turned around and was running away. No tears, just he was NOT going. I held him through the rest of the line, I knew he would hate to miss it! The pile of gold helped to calm his nerves a bit. This is who REALLY did the trick though. He had such a great time finding Capt. Jack Sparrow through out the ride. We were lucky enough to run right into a REAL pirate as soon as we exited the ride. By this time Landon was again in love with pirates and was so excited to meet one in real life. He tried really hard to recruit, but since we had only been in Disneyland for less than an hour, none of the kids were interested.
For the most part, we ate our meals outside of the park. Our hotel was directly across the street and we had a fridge/microwave, making it very easy to be thriftier on our food. However, the first day the kids were too excited to leave so Grandma bought lunch for all 9 of us (for the same price Nathan and I later bought groceries for the rest of the week mind you). It was the perfect thing to do while we waited for the time to use our Haunted Mansion FAST PASSES.
Lunch was right next door to Pooh Bear, since the line was short we rode that also.
The Haunted Mansion has ALWAYS been one of my favorite rides. It is done so neat at Halloween time. I was so glad we got to see it. They change it to Nightmare Before Christmas for the month of October.
Because we had the FAST PASS tickets, we didn't have to wait in much of a line. Again I had to carry Landon until we were seated though. He only needed to be carried through 2 or 3 rides right at the beginning. He quickly learned Disneyland is not scary, and is so animated!

Oogie Boogie
Neither my mom or myself wanted to carry the video camera through the park for 9 days, so neither of us brought one dangit! So I tried to take lots of pictures while we were on the rides. This is the Jungle Safari.
After the Jungle Safari we went out for dinner thinking we could take a break and close the park. By the time we returned it was dark.
Right in front of Cinderella's castle. It is so pretty at night!
Because they were doing the fireworks, rides were limited. We decided to hit Fantasy Land. Alice in Wonderland was a big hit!
Papa and Cody skipped the tea cups. I really wished afterwards that I had also! Nathan had Landon, Courtney and I spinning so fast. I really thought I may be sick!
The last ride the 1st day was Finding Nemo. It is an underwater submarine ride. Very cute. Standing in line with the birds, and yep they really do call "Mine, Mine, Mine" quite a bit!
We had a really good view of the fireworks from the line...but once the kids weren't running all the time, they realized just how worn out they were. So we rode a few more rides, until they were ready for bed.
Forget closing out the park, this one had to be carried back to the hotel. There wasn't a single night these 4 kids didn't hit the pillow and crash. We wore them right out daily!
