We had some really amazing days in Hawaii. This day however, was by far my favorite. The beach was seriously amazing and it's only day we had where the majority of it was spent on the beach. After that everyone who refused sunscreen was burned, Nathan got swimmers ear and it messes with his sinuses and Bailey was afraid of snorkeling. So after today no one was ready to spend another 6 hours there like on this day. 3 hours at the max. CRAZY if you ask me!
First thing we encountered was a sign saying that these seals are endangered and to leave them alone while sleeping on the beach. Lucky for us there was one doing just that. The lifeguards had put up ropes as an extra warning to leave the guy alone. He was really quite cute and peaceful to watch while he slept. But you can bet your last dollar I wouldn't want to be in the ocean with him!
YES! Beach bums!
Getting ready for our first time snorkeling this trip (or for Bailey and I it was our first time ever).
While taking pictures of them preparing for snorkeling the water kept reaching for me, enticing me to get in. I looked down and loved this view so much I knew I never wanted to forget it.
Grandma showing Bailey how
Nathan telling me to put the camera down and let's go!
I miss this view so much right now. I can't wait to be sitting in this exact spot watching the waves roll in while I watch my family in the ocean. Words can not describe how peaceful this is. And it was my last picture before I took my first snorkeling trip. I am hooked!
Time for a lunch break and Bailey is excited about the fish even if leery.
Nathan not so leery is ready to eat and get back in!
After lunch we spent some time playing in the sand. Building sand castles and burying the birthday girl.
And of course....writing your name in the sand!
This should be on a postcard...."wish you were here, but your not and we are still having a fabulous time!"
One thing I have noticed is that even after just being in the pool in my backyard there is something about ice cream that makes the day even better. So we stopped at Burger King for some french frys and had our favorite coconut icecream at the condo. Yum! It makes my mouth water even now!
Then it was a relaxing evening at "home". We watched a movie, talked to our family who were really at home and just hung out.
And of course there was food. You can see on Bailey's face that she is tired but oh so happy. Plus the pineapple in her other hand only makes you wish you were there, right? It does me :)
Now I ask you....can you see why there is a part of me that wants to spend EVERY day exactly like this one?!

I can hear Nathan telling you: "Put the Camera down and let's go!" Too funny. Love these pictures. Love the water, the sand, the fun. and coconut ice cream. WTF? It would be okay if just coconut flavored. But if it has coconut bits in it, yuck!
