My hero left this world today
And traded in his wings
He no longer flies in jets and planes,
But bigger, greater things
He's the strongest man that ever lived
He's tougher than a bear
He could climb a mountain cliff
In places no one dared
He can bend iron to any shape
And melt the cold hard steel
He can tame the wildest beast
In my mind or even real
My hero is 10 feet tall
And walks among the Kings
He's the richest man around
And can make the angels sing
You might of called him by his name
Or saluted whenever you would see
But I will know him with one word
It's Dad to my sisters, brother and me
My hero left this world today
And traded in his wings
My hero might be gone but not his memory

What a beautiful poem!
He seemed like a wonderful man!
What a wonderful way to be remembered after you are gone. We should all strive to be remembered this way!
