As soon as we unloaded everyone took off on their bikes. It couldn't have been 5 minutes after we got there that the Ranger showed up. He let us know that the kids bike helmets are not DOT approved, and they would not be able to ride today. What a bummer! Landon cried and that guy must not have any 4 year old little boys because he sure wasn't giving in when he was told that it was Landon's birthday present by the birthday boy himself....sad.
He tried everything to convince us he would be safe. Down to putting on dad's helmet and once again explaining he is now 4 and a MAN!
After a man to man talk Landon finally understood. I didn't say he accepted it---but atleast he understood!
This one may have fit his daughter a bit better, what do you think?
Tayler mentioned to Uncle Cody that she would probably have more fun if her bike didn't have training wheels on it. So sure enough he ripped his leathermen out of his pocket and removed them. She is the most persistent little girl I have ever seen! She taught herself how to ride---in the dirt, rocks and hills! GO TAYLER!! We couldn't have been more proud of her, you should have seen her out there racing around!
Courtney thought riding bikes was more fun than the 4wheelers. This may have something to do with her jumping on w/Uncle Derek first thing. Is it every Uncles job to try and make their nieces squeal?
Aunt Natalie did a bad thing---I showed Tenley, Landon's bike. She is too small to reach the pedals but just big enough to hold on and demand she be pushed. This was a long hard job for her mom once I had my fill (about 5 minutes). But look at that cute smile---it's worth it!
We had a really good time and we were all exhausted! Landon was NOT happy to leave---he really didn't get enough time riding. Plans have already been made to go over dad's birthday weekend. We will definitely purchase DOT approved helmets first!
