Burn Update

Instacare had their fill of us---I think it may have had something to do with the fact our nurse was a Matt Kenseth fan and he went to the garage in the first 5 minutes of the race Saturday night. Anyway they let us know that after coming in 5 days in a row, they had done everything they could to help Nathan. That his burn was healing nicely, but there was a very large amount of skin missing and he may need skin graphs. So off to the burn clinic we go...
We made our appointment for this morning at 8 am. The great news is we are to healing only, no more dead skin needs to come off. They don't need skin graphs and they wanted us to know the next time this happens we should come straight to the burn clinic. WHAT? THE NEXT TIME THIS HAPPENS?????
Ok so he can return to work on Monday, but w/a very limited amount of actual labor. Apparently in order to be legally capable to drive you need to have a grip strength of 50. In his left hand which is normally the weaker of the two he has a grip strength of 76. The right hand (the injured one) 26. This averages 50 so I say---LET HIM DRIVE! ha ha Not the case, his doctor's note says in caps NO DRIVING!!!
He is doing well, still in quite a bit of pain---but it is slowing down. They are going to try and take the meds down to Ibprofen tomorrow. He is nervous about that because of how painful it has been, but w/how well he is healing this is a good step. We will work on excercising his hand this weekend and get it used to moving again. He is still acting a bit like a 5 yr old---except now he is a 5 yr old who has been grounded to his house for 6 days. So it's almost a little like the temper tantrum you see when the mom says no son you are not getting a candy, in the middle of the grocery store. :)
