Last night we went to the Zoo (courtesy of Groupon, we got buy one get one free).

Bailey posing with the Gorilla statue

They did an awesome job with the lights, they were so fun to look at and alot of them were animated.

It was so cold! Good thing they had hot cocoa! I brought sugar cookies to go with them

While we snacked, we tried to get warm!

Jill blowing off Tenley's hot cocoa....as cold as it was outside, the hot cocoa was just a bit too warm for her

My wonderful Mom and Dad....so glad they go to things like this with us, it's always so much fun for everyone!

Courtney posing with the reptiles....I like how her image is doubled in the glass

Ok it's Christmas...this may seem more like a Halloween type thing, but because it was so late at night the bats were awake! We sat and watched them for quite awhile, they were super interesting! Tenley kept oohing and ahhing about how cute they were.

This is Tenley showing the older girls how to be Gingerbread Men in front of the Gingerbread house

Cute animals made from lights

Tenley showing us her best gorilla face....watch future pictures, it was hard to get her to stop doing it after this.

I like this picture....it shows all the colorful trees along the walk ways

If you are at the zoo, you HAVE to do this!

Nathan, Derek and (Gorilla) Tenley with a peacock made of lights

Bailey and Courtney pretending to be on a train made of lights....Tenley still playing Gorilla

We had so much fun! It was cold so I highly recommend bundling up, filling your thermos with hot cocoa and going out to see this. It may not be something we do every year but it was fun to see at least once! Like I said, the zoo did a fantastic job with the lights. Plus the fact it was the opposite time we normally go, it was fun to see how the animals reacted. We had a tiger growling at us, the bats were active, a monkey tried to attack Tenley through the glass, an owl stared us down....etc, etc, etc.
And after all was said and done, Courtney much like most events, fell dead asleep in the car on the way home

I love these pictures. It looks like you guys had so much fun and now I really do want to go. For sure, I'd be doing the same thing as Courtney on the ride home. Too much excitement!
Looks like it was fun. I am jealous!
