As you probably know Twilight the movie was release on 3/21. Though I loved the books and have read them twice, that doesn't compare to my vampire obsessor, Bailey. She is madly in love with Edward Cullen. So I decided I would use it as leverage. Get her room clean, keep the drama from the house for a week ha ha, homework done each night, etc. and take her to this release party. There were so many to pick from. Because she is 12 and I was letting her bring 2 friends I decided to do the one at Walmart as it sounded more kid appropriate.
Bailey, Kelsie, and Kenzie getting ready to meet their vampire loves. It's hard work to look as beautiful as a vampire afterall.
The waiting was a bit exhausting for Jill and I. But the girls really did a great job of keeping themselves entertained.
Finally it was time for pictures with Edward. Imagine their disappointment when Edward was a cardboard cutout. They were still very excited to get their picture with him! Talking about how cute he was and how they couldn't wait to get these pictures on their bedroom walls.
As Jill and I continue to stand in line for the movie release at Midnight, the 3 girls ran over for cake. Found another one of their friends who joined us in line.
Now trust me when I tell you this. You have never heard a true squeel until you have heard it from a bunch of 12 year old girls as their true vampire love walks in the door. We watched as the whole gang walked through to surprise a very anxious group of Twilight Fans. Ok Jill and I watched. Bailey and her friends jumped up and down, screaming Edward's name, I swear I thought they were going to faint.
And if you thought that was bad....you hadn't seen anything until Edward and Jasper asked the girls to sit on their laps for pictures. Oh my!!!! When they came back I heard things like "I am twitching," "I feel like I'm going to faint," "Edward touched MY hand" ha ha
Somehow the girls were calm enough afterwards to try and win a movie by filling out trivia questions. Jill actually did win the movie!
And then they couldn't contain it anymore. Everyone had done pictures and the girls were still goo goo for the group (we happened to be parked right in front of pictures in our line). They had to get autographs! This is Bailey right after Edward signed her paper on her back. HE TOUCHED HER AGAIN ha haIn the end we did get our movie, but that is nothing compared to the wonderful feeling these 4 girls walked away with it. It was a long hard night for me, but I would do it again. Bailey was in heaven!
