This was medieval week for the 6th grade. They had to dress up each day and each fair maiden was assigned a squire. The squire had to carry their books, pull out their chairs, hang up their coats, get their lunches etc. They did things like dragon slaying, arm wrestling and had a dance and feast at the end of the week. Parents were invited to join the dance and feast. Bailey was not too happy that her mom was so willing to volunteer to help, but NO WAY! I was missing her first boy/girl dance!
There was quite a few rules to go over before they could start. Like no mosh pits ha ha
I got so many pictures of her, and lots of little videos. The dance/feast lasted about 2 hours and these kids had such a great time!
The kids had to fill out dance cards---that is what is in Bailey's hands. Meet Brandon...this is her partner for 2 dances. She wasn't thrilled that she had to dance with him more than once. I think he must have liked her a bit to have ended up on her card twice though? Just my thought. He was a cute kid, very active. Of all her partners he was the most fun to watch.
Here they are doing "Thriller" I was very impressed with the 2 sixth grade teachers who got involved and put this all together. They were so animated and right there in the middle of all of it. They were very dressed up and looked really nice. They kept the kids going and led all the line dances. I really am glad they have such great teachers at our school! I wish I had a fun teacher in my 6th grade like these!
